President's Welcome
President's Welcome

Obesity has become a growing health concern around the world, and the APAC region includes a significant proportion of the global population of people who are overweight and obese. Population of our member countries is around 30 billion, and burdens of obesity on public health and economy are rapidly increasing. Our association should play a vital role in addressing this epidemic by advancing research, education, and advocacy.

As a scientific association, we have much to be proud of. We have legacy from our pioneers in the field of obesity. Our current members are leaders in the field, conducting innovative research and making significant contributions to the scientific literature. We have also been enthusiastic in promoting obesity prevention and treatment through public health initiatives and policies.

Looking ahead, I am ardent about continuing our efforts to advance the science of obesity and promote evidence-based approaches to obesity prevention and treatment. I urge more members to participate actively in the association’s activities and share their expertise and research findings with their colleagues. I expect to witness the progress we will make as an organization and the advancements we will continue to make in the field of obesity research.

Lastly, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our members for their dedication and hard work in making this association a success. I am eager to work with all of you to achieve our common goals and improve the health and well-being of individuals with obesity in Asia-Oceania region.
